Pat O’Bryan is curious. He took a video camera, placed it in a coffee shop, and talked people into sitting in front of it. His question to each was, “What is love?” He never accepted their answers. He made them squirm. I know. I was there. I was one of the victims of this “video ambush.” 🙂 See the whole thing at www.youtube.com/v/vCmFq8bxYXo or by clicking the image below:

When someone askes me to define “love”, I usually define romantic love as the realization of your values in the person of another. I liked Joe’s definition, because it’s all-encompassing, and defines all aspects of life, not just the romantic. It seems like Pat asks “what does that mean?” to see if the speaker knows what they’re talking about. WhatEVER. How does Pat define love?

Nerissa, when she looks at Joe on this video, is emanating pure love – you can feel it and see it!

Love is the highest form of consciousness and one we all strive to come home to. Love is who we are, what we are to create and what we are to receive. It is the state of pure abundance and creative energy that serves, heals, and provides us with a direct experience of God – the Greatest Mystery we strive to know – know love and know God!

Love is help. When you feel bad and someone help you – it is love. It is true in different situations.

Love is laughter and smiles and warmth when you realize we really all are connected.

Thanks Pat for doing this and Joe for putting it here.

    Hey Joe!

Great video! With all due respect Joe, (you’re my hero and all) your explanation of love was more “Guru-ish” than anything else.. B

But your wife Nerissa seems to EMIT love in this video.. From her smile, the way she talks and all.. I think she defines love without words..

Maybe that’s because she’s IN love with YOU.. haha!

    Love your blog Joe!
