Attracting Real Magic

A few weeks ago my favorite magic shop sent out an unusual email.

The owner said he needed sales or he might go out of business.

He asked everyone on his list to buy something, even if it was small and inexpensive, even if it was a gift certificate to be used at a later time.

I responded by ordering a thousand dollars worth of magic tricks and books. (One book cost five hundred dollars, so the tab was easy to reach fast.)

I’m a lifetime member of The Society of American Magicians, the organization Houdini started. I spend a small fortune on magic. Spending a grand on more of it wasn’t unusual. In fact, I was excited about the new goodies I’d be receiving.

I didn’t think anything of the email or my order until I heard from the magic store owner a few days later.

He said someone on his list called him and educated him about the Law of Attraction, saying he was violating the Law by acting from desperation and not intention.

The caller then went on to read excerpts about the Law of Attraction from his favorite Law of Attraction author.

Turns out that author was me.

After the caller completed his lecturing, the magic store owner said he not only personally knew the author of those passages, but that same author just responded to the very email the caller was complaining about, adding that the author (me) ordered one thousand dollars worth of stuff due to that email.

The caller was dead silent.

This raises an interesting question:

Was the magic store owner acting from desperation or was his email an intention triggered by his desperation?

Here’s how I see it:

The magic shop owner looked at his bank statement and realized he needed sales, and fast. He was clear about what he didn’t want (to go bankrupt) and that urged him to be clear about what he did want (to attract more money now). The resulting email was a positive move that led to positive results.

There’s a fine line between acting from desperation and using the desperation to choose what you want. In my book The Attractor Factor I said the first step is to know what you don’t want. The second step is to choose what you do want. The magic dealer did both steps.

He was also practicing sound marketing.

Remember, I wrote many books on marketing, including Hypnotic Writing and Buying Trances. I know a little something about the subject.

The magic dealer gave his prospects a logical “reason why” to buy now: by explaining that times were tough and he needed sales or else, he told the truth and won the hearts of customers like me.

When I received his email, I felt the sincerity in it. I didn’t feel desperation. I didn’t feel pleading. I felt a heartfelt attempt to attract what he wanted: more money from more sales.

And the dealer’s email worked. I responded to it. So did others. He’s still in business.

I wouldn’t be so quick to judge people for what you observe. The Universe responds to the feelings in them that you can’t see. What they get is what they attract. You don’t need to judge them at all.

The bigger question is what are you doing and feeling?

What are you attracting?

What would you prefer to attract next?

There’s where the real magic lives.

Joe

The Abundance Manifesto: Secret #2

As I mentioned in an earlier post, over the next few weeks I’m going to reveal ten principles of abundance. I’m calling them The Abundance Manifesto. This is to help pave the way for my new audio program, The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation (coming out late October).

Again, since I’m sculpting these thoughts as they occur to me, please be forgiving in reviewing them. In fact, what I’d love is your opinion. Please comment on each to help me refine them all. The end result will be a useful set of insights for you, me, and everyone else.

Here’s the second one:

Thou shall worship passion.

The scarcity based view of the world worships money. The abundance view worships passion. When you focus on doing what you are passionate about, money will follow (as long as you practice the other nine secrets in The Abundance Manifesto). Passion refers to the joy you get from doing something you care about and feel inspired to do. Passion is the energy of Divine inspiration living through you. When you express passion, you express love. When you live from love, you are experiencing the abundant essence of the Universe.  Take your eyes off money and put them on following your bliss; on following your life calling or mission. That’s the direct road to abundance.

Attracting Cars: Abundance or Scarcity?

The other day someone twittered a note to me asking —

“Why do you need 7 cars? Why not sell one and give the money to a homeless shelter?”

I found the question revealing.

The person asking the question assumes it’s an either-or world; either you buy the car or you give the money for it away to some good cause.

Sounds logical, doesn’t it?

Within that kind of thinking, it is logical.

But that’s scarcity thinking.

That’s thinking there isn’t enough.

Is that actual reality?

Abundance thinking, on the other hand, would say that you can do both; you can buy the car and you can donate money to the homeless.

But most people don’t see this.

They don’t see it because they’re stuck in their paradigm (or mindset) and don’t know it.

They’re seeing the world through their mental “box of beliefs.”

This isn’t their fault.

That’s how they were programmed.

I totally understand it.

I was once broke, struggling, desperate, and unhappy.

In those days I would have thought the same thing: there isn’t enough to go around.

But was that actually true?

Was that reality?

It was real and true only to the extent that I lived from the mindset that believed it.

According to the “box of beliefs” in my head at that time in my life, the world looked bleak.

But I’ve transcended that thinking.

Today I live from The Abundance Paradigm.

In other words, today I know I can have the cars *and* I can contribute just as much money or more to causes I believe in.

I’m living this. I’ve given money to friends to help them with the IRS or a struggling business; I’ve given money to causes and people I believe in, including complete strangers; I’ve donated to homeless shelters and to a group to end poverty; I’ve bought cars for family members; I’ve even funded a bold movement to end homelessness.

And I buy a car for myself when I feel inspired to do so.

How is this possible?

What’s the difference?

My thinking.

Yes, I have more money now, too, but that’s also a result of leaving scarcity thinking and moving into abundance thinking.

But I didn’t get to this new paradigm overnight.

It took decades of reading, thinking, trying, and more.

It wasn’t until I got a coach that I began to have the faster breakthroughs. From there, life became one of magic and miracles.

Which is why I created Joe Vitale’s Miracles Coaching ®.

I don’t want you to spend decades spinning your wheels; I want you to have results ASAP.

The Abundance Manifesto: Secret #1

Over the next few weeks I’m going to post ten principles of abundance. I’m calling them The Abundance Manifesto. This is to help pave the way for my new audio program, The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation (coming out late October).

These are my observations about how you can attract personal and planetary wealth. Wealth, of course, is more than money, so these ideas are more sweeping than you may at first realize.

Since I’m just sculpting these thoughts, please be forgiving in reviewing them. In fact, what I’d love is your opinion. Please comment on each to help me refine them all. The end result will be a useful set of insights for you, me, and everyone else.

Here’s the first one:

Thou shall see the alternative reality.

In every moment you have a choice. You can see the limitation before you, or you can see the abundance before you. Life is an optical illusion. What you see depends on your mindset. Your mindset depends on your programming. Because most of us are programmed by the negative seeking media, as well as our education, parents, and all else around us, most of us are seeing the scarcity reality. Yet an abundance reality also exists. In other words, are you seeing an old woman or a young woman in the famous art from the late 1800s? It depends on your focus. Relax your view and you can see both ladies exist. The same is true for reality. It’s time to move from seeing the world as scarcity and fear based to the world that also exists that is abundance and love based. You have a choice. Allow your eyes to see the new world.

Ghetto Physics, or, Beyond What the Bleep!?

Recently I got to meet Will Arntz, the director of the hit movie, “What the Bleep!?” He’s a swell guy, fun to hang with, and on to his next project with a movie called Ghetto Physics: Will the Real Pimps and Ho’s Please Stand Up?

He loaned me a private screening copy of the DVD. I watched it and it changed my life – but not in any way I expected.

bleep guy w Joe

The movie pushed some buttons in me. It says that in each moment there is a pimp and there is a “ho”. This dynamic is unconscious but can be found from the street to the boardroom.

As I watched Ghetto Physics, I felt defensive, alarmed, disgusted, and then on to entertained, educated, and finally enlightened.

I also made a life changing decision due to it.

I’ve been struggling with all the travel and all the speaking engagements I do. Russia. Poland. Peru. Canada. Bermuda. All over the states. All wanting repeat visits, too. Then there are all the new offers from China, Italy, and the Dominican Republic. The list goes on. It’s exhausting.

I confess public speaking has never been my cup of tea. Oh, I can do it, and get standing ovations for it. But it’s rarely been all fun. Truth is, I’d rather just stay home and write.

With that in mind, I wondered if I should stop speaking altogether.

After I watched Ghetto Physics, I wondered if I were a pimp or a ‘ho when it came to speaking gigs. I’m rarely driven by money alone, so most of the time my decision making is from passion.

What excites me? Do that. That’s been my motto.

But that’s not always the case.

With public speaking, I have too often done it for the money (except as a non-paid favor to a friend, as with every Un-Seminar Pat O’Bryan has ever done).

I decided I didn’t want to do anything just for the money. As I explain in my book, Attract Money Now, money shouldn’t be your motivator; love should be. Passion should be.

So I made the decision to not do any more speaking gigs, anywhere, at least for the rest of this year, and until I felt passionate about it.

I’ll of course stay open to new insights, opportunities and growth. I’m simply sharing with you how the movie Ghetto Physics got me to reflect on how I’m creating my reality, and how to refine it so I do more of what I consciously choose and love.

The enlightened view of the pimp-ho dynamic is this:  in every moment, you can be both.

Until then, though, you’re usually one or the other.

Maybe you can ask yourself this question: Are you doing what you love, or are you doing it for some other motive?

There’s nothing wrong with money, but you may not want it to be the love of your life.

Ao Akua,

Joe
