Imaginotions: Part Eleven

Once upon a time, in a small, vibrant village surrounded by lush forests and flowing rivers, there lived a kindhearted blacksmith named Thomas.

Thomas was known far and wide for his masterful creations, from the sharpest swords to the most intricate ironwork.

People from all corners of the land would travel to the village just to witness his craft and perhaps take a piece of his artistry home with them.

One sunny day, as Thomas was working diligently at his forge, a mysterious traveler appeared at his door. The man was elderly, with a long silver beard and a twinkle in his eyes that seemed to hold the secrets of the universe.

He introduced himself as Elric, a wise and powerful sorcerer who had been wandering the earth for centuries, learning and sharing the ancient knowledge of transformation and healing.

Thomas, intrigued by the man’s tales, invited Elric to stay in his humble abode for a while.

As the days turned into weeks, the two became great friends, sharing stories, laughter, and wisdom late into the night.

One evening, Elric shared a captivating tale about a magical grove deep within the heart of the forest. This enchanted place was said to contain a mesmerizing pond with the most crystal-clear water anyone had ever seen.

Legend had it that the water from this pond had the power to cleanse the mind and nourish the soul, allowing those who drank from it to discover their true potential and unlock their hidden strengths.

Thomas, fascinated by the story, decided to embark on a journey to find this magical grove. Elric, having journeyed there before, offered to guide him.

The next morning, with the sun gently warming their faces, they set off on their adventure.

They walked for hours through the enchanting forest, the sunlight filtering through the canopy, casting shadows that danced along the forest floor.

As they ventured deeper into the woods, Thomas began to notice the subtle changes around him. He could feel the cool breeze on his skin, hear the rustling of leaves, and smell the earthy scent of the forest floor.

He felt connected to the world around him, becoming more in tune with the gentle rhythm of nature.

He also noticed his own breathing, deep and steady, as he walked along the winding path.

After several days of walking, they finally arrived at the magical grove.

Thomas stood in awe at the sight of the crystal-clear pond, its water shimmering in the dappled sunlight. He knelt by the water’s edge, cupped his hands, and took a long, slow sip.

As the cool water filled his body, Thomas felt an incredible sense of clarity and tranquility wash over him. He began to see himself in a new light, understanding the power he held within.

He realized that his own strength and determination were the keys to unlocking his potential, and that he had the ability to transform not only his craft, but his life as well.

In that moment, a profound sense of purpose and determination filled Thomas’s heart.

He and Elric spent several days in the magical grove, immersing themselves in the wonders of nature and the power of the enchanted pond.

As they eventually made their way back to the village, Thomas couldn’t help but notice how much lighter and more energized he felt.

Over time, Thomas’s newfound strength and determination manifested in every aspect of his life.

He began to forge not only the most beautiful creations but also a strong, healthy body and a vibrant, nourished spirit.

His days were filled with purpose, and he found joy in the simplest of pleasures.

The once humble blacksmith had been transformed into a beacon of inspiration for all those who crossed his path.

And so, the legend of the magical grove and the enchanted pond continued to be shared.

Imaginotions: Part Nine

Flying high above, the bird sees movement below.

It scans the environment around the ground.

All seems clear.

Wings still spread, it floats downward to the movement.

No thought.

No thinking.

The movement is the aim and the intention.

Closer still, the object is life.

A small insect.

Big enough to be seen from under clouds.

Small enough to move without much notice.

But the bird noticed.

It swoops in and claims the insect.

In a moment, life is gone.

The bird continues on, upwards back to clouds.

In flight, no fright, fed and gone.

Joe

Imaginotions: Part Seven

“Can a book put you in a trance?”
I’ve been practicing hypnosis since the 1960s. I’ve written books such as Hypnotic Writing and Buying Trances, so the question was not out of line.
“Why do you ask?”
“I thought maybe I could just read and have change happen.”
“You mean without doing anything?”
“Nothing more than read. I’m tired of struggling to change.”
“You have to want to change,” I pointed out.
“I do! But everything I tried so far doesn’t help.”
“You think reading a book will?”
“You’ve told me of books that have inspired people to change. Can you write one for me?”
“Specifically for you?”
“Yes.”
“You prefer that over my just putting you into a trance?”
“You’ve done that and I’m still me.”
“You’ll always be you,” I explained. “You’re simply wanting to be a new and improved version of yourself.”
“If I could do it on my own, I would. I think I’m resisting change in our sessions.”
“Why would you resist what you want?”

“Huh?”
“You said you are resisting change. I’m asking why you would resist changing into what you say you want?”
“I guess a part of me doesn’t want the change.”
“And why would that part not want what the rest of you wants?”
“That’s what I don’t get, Doc. I mean, I want to change, and I’m here with you to change, but I’m obviously not changing.”
“And so you think a book will do it?”
“A book by you, yes. You could make it hypnotic and the message might bypass the critical part of me that is blocking change.”
“This sounds like you created a solution for yourself.”
“I guess so. Will you do it?”
“If I wrote such a book, what do you think would be in it to convince that part of you to finally change now?”
“You could tell me a story and I’d be so interested in the story that I wouldn’t notice that a change took place while I was reading it.”
“You’re pretty clever,” I said.

“Well if I were truly clever, I wouldn’t need the book I’m requesting.”
“If I told you a story in this book about how a person changed by simply taking action in the direction of the change they wanted, would you accept it?”
“If it’s a true story.”
“There a hundreds if not thousands of books by and about people who have overcome adversity and all odds to achieve breakthroughs and transformations.”
“I”d like to be one of those people.”
“What do you want to achieve?”
“I already told you. I want to improve myself so I like myself.”
“If you liked yourself right now, how would you feel?”
“Better than I do now.”
“Yes, but what would you be feeling?”
“I don’t know, Doc. I guess peace, love, appreciation.”
“Can you remember a time when you felt that way?”
Silence.
“Well, I remember getting a good grade on a paper in school and I felt proud of myself.”
“Do you have a memory from even earlier than that?”
“Not really.”
“Think for a moment…”

Silence.
“Well there was a time when I was a little kid and my mom said I did something good.”
“What did you do?”
“I think I cleaned my room.”
“And you felt what?”
“Proud.”
“Pride in yourself is a healthy feeling,” I explained. “Do you feel pride these days?”
“No.”
“What about for trying to take care of yourself by seeing me?”
“I guess that’s a good thing.”
“How do you feel knowing it’s a good thing?”
“Some pride, I guess. But how do I get past all the negative stuff about myself?”
“You are remembering the negative but you are also remembering the positive. Maybe you can do more remembering of the positive.”
“Doesn’t seem easy.”
“Tell you what. I’ll make it easy for you.”
“Finally.”
I handed out two coins.
“Which do you want?” I asked.
“Does it matter?”
“One is a good coin. The other is a less than good coin.”
“I’ll take the good coin.”

“Why?”
“Well because it’s good. It’s the better choice.”
“And why wouldn’t you want the less than good coin?”
“I don’t want to have a coin less than what I could have.”
“I see.”
We stared at each other.
“I think I see your point, Doc.”
“What is it?”
“I can choose.”
“Choose what?”
“The good memories.”
“And why would you choose good memories?”
“They feel better.”
“Do you still want me to write a book for you?”
“It’s your choice, Doc.”
