The Man Who Shot Me

Forty years ago the bearded man on the right of me in the picture shot me in the back as I walked home from school.

He used a BB gun, but it still hurt.

I haven’t seen him in thirty years.

Whenever I think of him, I gringe.

When we flew up to Ohio for my nephew’s wedding, I had no idea I would run into this man at the wedding reception.

When he walked up to me and smiled, I felt terror go up my spine.

Suddenly I was a teenager again, and afraid of the man who bullied me when I was so young.

The man is old now. He seemed gentle. I decided to talk to him. After having a few drinks – note the cup in my hand – I decided to confront my nemesis.

We talked for quite a while. He’s been through hard times. He lost his brother, who had been my best friend in high school. And he lost his mother. Today he’s on disability due to a back accident.

After a lot of sharing, I finally decided to erase the past and confront my fears.

I asked this man, “Why did you shoot me with a BB gun when I was a kid?”

He rubbed his face, looked down, and softly said, “I shot a lot of kids back then.”

He added, “They were all armed, though. I never shot anyone who didn’t have a BB gun, too. I don’t remember shooting you unless you had a gun, too.”

I remembered not being armed as a kid.

And then he said, “The kid who was really bad at hurting others was Jimmy Dant.”

Suddenly the dark memory came rushing back to me.

The man I was talking to wasn’t the bad guy at all. It was Jimmy Dant*, who I later learned died a few years ago.

My memory was all wrong.

I was mad at a guy — mad for forty years — who hadn’t done a thing to me.

I wonder how many of us are spending time blaming someone when that someone never even did anything to us.

I’m shocked that my memory could be so off.

I’m pleased that the man who I thought shot me wasn’t a bad guy at all.

In fact, he never was.

PS – Note how you always read the PS ?

* “Jimmy Dant” is not the real name of the man who shot me. I am releasing the past and letting everyone be innocent again.

Another stupid marketing mistake

Someone wrote me that my hypnotic style of marketing would not work in their field.

They said their audience is too sophisticated to be “suckered” by hype and hypnosis.

That’s a fundamental mistake in marketing.

Any time you think your audience is different from other people, you’ve suckered yourself into believing a lie.

As I point out in my Hypnotic Selling Secrets package, the same people you admire and even fear go home at night and watch the Simpsons, or Desperate Housewives, or 24.

People are people. They respond to the same emotional triggers and self-interest buttons as anyone else.

Thinking they don’t is stupid.

I’ve seen accountants, doctors, lawyers, and all others groups of people respond to Hypnotic Marketing and Hypnotic Writing.

The key is you must always speak in their language — which is part of what I teach –and you must always speak to their self interests. When you do, they respond.

This is all explained in my system. See http://www.hypnoticsellingsecrets.com/g.o/10386

If you don’t at least go review the site, then you’re doing something else that is pretty stupid:
You’re assuming you know it all.

I’m constantly investing in programs, books, courses and trainings to educate myself. I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. If I can still learn something new, can’t you, as well?

Open your mind and prosper.

PS – There are enough bonuses with the Hypnotic Selling Secrets package to make this investment a no-brainer. Of course, the offer for them ends on May 1st. http://www.hypnoticsellingsecrets.com/g.o/10386

Breaking Marketing Records

I’m dead tired – Just off a plane from a family trip to Ohio and back in front of my computer now, pushing the marketing along for the Hypnotic Selling Secrets limited edition set.

We’ve already sold hundreds of sets and the online marketing strategy behind this campaign has barely kicked into gear.

Wait till I turn on the after burners!

If you missed the buzz for this, put on your shoes and sprint over to http://www.hypnoticsellingsecrets.com/g.o/10386

My plan is to break all previous online sales records by using a new marketing strategy no one else has ever tried.

Based on current sales and the online buzz, I’d say the plan is working.

More later.

PS – One of the new prizes someone could win is an entire day with me reviewing their business. It’s all explained at http://www.hypnoticsellingsecrets.com/g.o/10386 If nothing else, you should be studying this marketing campaign — as well as any other big ones you hear about — to see what you can learn from just observing it. While you do that, I’ll go unpack.

How Viral Marketing Begins

Munrab Entertainment wants to hold the world’s first “Canine Concert,” an event where the music is played at a sound level only dogs can hear.

In order to find the right band for the canines, Munrab is asking people to vote on what they think their dogs want to hear.

It’s all explained at www.CanineConcert.com

This is how you start a viral marketing buzz.

PS – I leave for Ohio tomorrow and will be gone a week. More news whan I return.

The Secret of the Mustard Seed

I often carry a mustard seed coin with me.

It’s a small coin, about the size of a quarter, with a real mustard seed sealed on one side, and the famous quote from Jesus engraved on the other side:

“If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; nothing will be impossible for you.”

I sometimes give these magical coins out as gifts, as well. I get them from http://store.yahoo.com/christiandollarstore/musseedpocco.html

The coin reminds me of faith, trust, and the power of an unwavering intention.

After all, a mustard seed has no doubt about what it will turn out to be. As long as it gets some rain and sun, it will grow.

Far too many people get hung up on the power of ‘if’ in manifesting goals. They let their minds trip them up.

As I’ve said in my books, from The Attractor Factor www.attractorfactor.com to Life’s Missing Instruction Manual www.lifesmissingmanual.com, the favorite question of your mind is, “What if?”

What if this happens?

What if this goes wrong?

What if it doesn’t work out?

Your mind will drive you batty, if you let it.

A mustard seed doesn’t play the game of ‘if’ in manifesting goals. It “knows” about the power of instant manifestation because it doesn’t interfere with its own evolution.

If you gave in to your intention, and trusted it with the same clarity as a mustard seed, what could you accomplish?

What could you manifest?

Since you are right now entertaining the possibility of manifesting something huge in your life, why not go ahead and just do it?

I suspect the only thing stopping you is…Your own mind.
