I saw a so-so TV movie recently where a key character stated something profound:

“People want magic in their lives yet don’t believe magic actually exists.”

That made me sit up straight and ask myself —

Do I believe in magic?

If so, why don’t I look for more magical solutions to my life challenges?

What about you?

Do you believe in magic?

If so, why are you working so hard, and worrying so much?

If you really believed in magic, wouldn’t you be more trusting and more relaxed?

Think about it.

“None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have Faith.” ― Paulo Coelho, Brida

I’ve discovered a key to attracting what you want in your life is learning to relax.

You do that by learning to trust; to have faith.

Worry, impatience and desperation actually slow down the Law of Attraction. Worry says you have faith things aren’t going to work out.

That’s not very helpful, is it?

It also causes stress which can lead to illness.

The real secret to attracting what you want, as well as staying healthy and sane, is to relax, get your energy aligned throughout your body and mind, and *allow* the magic to work in your life.

What’s the best way to get into the flow?

Easy.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”  ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thanks Joe! You’re on the money! And your wonderful audio is making me smile even more here as it plays and magic comes my way. I’m sure you remember me. I’m the giver of the Viagra rope as you called it!

Much more magic coming your way!

The first magic happens to my life everyday is that, I gets up everyday.

Everything we wish to get, can be ours with only the magic of destiny.

You are really good to attach quotations, Joe. Don’t you think Aligning to Zero will create a great change in everybody’s life?

so true Dr.Joe. When I let go and trust life flows and “problems” are resolved effortlessly. Most worry about stuff because we learned bad habits like this from peers and authority figures.

What you describe is called “magical thinking”.
If you truly, truly believe in magic, then why would you make any effort whatsoever?
Why would you lock your doors?
Why would you pay your bills?
Why would you go to the dentist?
After all, magic can solve all of these….magically.
Actually, some American Indian warriors believed 100% in magic and they wore invincible vests.
Well, a bullet proved to be more magical.
Lots of tribes in Africa 100% believe that having more children brings prosperity.
    Yeah, right.
Oh, I forgot….the subconscious mental blocks could be spoiling the magical solutions.
But, on the other hand, “magical thinking” could be the biggest mental block of all times.
Some believe in monsters, others in bunnies….what’s the difference?
Try stop believing in crap for a change and you may perceive a glimpse of reality.

Your comment is a common mistake. Magic and magical thinking are two different things. The first requires your action, involvement and trust; the second does not. Re-read the post and the quotes in it to maybe get a sense of the difference.

Relaxing is the hardest part of the equation for me, but I love music and this has reminded me to use music to kick back and let go.
    Thanks

    • April 12, 2012 at 11:57 am

I agree with you Caroline, relaxing is definitely the hardest part, especially since most of us are always “going;” and when we’re
“going,” we’re not remembering “Magic:” our divine capacity for seeing ourselves through to our next trial.

I’ll definitely check out the music, Joe. Thanks! 🙂

Hi Joe! Thanks for the reminder. It is so easy for us to forget that we live in a magical universe. We get so used to interacting with the world through our purely rational mind, that we often live, oblivious to the beauty, power and joy of Spirit.
Your post is reminiscent of what Carlos Castaneda wrote in The Power of Silence: “What we need to do to allow magic to get hold of us is to banish doubts from our minds…Once doubts are banished, anything is possible.” Keep on sharing your magic!

I can see how some people can find this hard, because they are holding onto the stuff from their past, past experiences, negative programming, negative emotions that don’t allow them to see it!

Letting go of this programming and replacing it with something better.. you start to see the magic! The more you let go.. the better it gets.. and you attract new opportunities.. notice new things coming into your life. 🙂

“Re-read the post. The first requires your action, involvement and trust; the second does not…”
Joe, not to be argumentative …but the examples I gave you are of people taking action, big actions, the wrong actions: getting a magic vest and going to war, having extra children.
They got involved into their beliefs and they had absolute trust.
How much more trust do you want than putting your life on the line by wearing a vest and thinking you’ll be indestructible?
So here is the question: what’s the difference between these Indian warriors and the tribes in Africa, and “John Smith” trusting in a magical solution that will inspire his actions?
Spell it out in detail if you will. Thanks.

I read many of your books. Some are great.
I like very much “Marketing Spirituality”.
    But…
The issue is not for me to read your books or not.
The issue is “are you capable of exploring the inconsistency between your claims and the examples I brought up?”
    That’s the real question.

    • April 14, 2012 at 8:48 am

I never wrote a book called “Marketing Spirituality.”

  13. April 14, 2012 at 6:01 am

Waking up everyday is the magic that happens to me everyday. Having faith and trust is also a great motivation to live life. Thank you for sharing this great post.

    Joe,

Of course you didn’t write “Marketing Spirituality”.
You wrote “Spiritual Marketing” (which I enjoyed a lot, although I disagreed with you stopping playing the harmonica at the time.).
As a matter of fact, I talked to you many years ago, asking about your healer friend, mentioned in the book, who stopped offering his services.
A touch of British humor or Texan impishness would have revealed that I’m talking about the commercialization of spirituality, by virtue of flipping the words of the book’s title.
Anyhow, you simply made some claims that seem inconsistent with a few of my observations and I ask for convincing clarification.
    I don’t believe or disbelieve.
I simply inquire when I see a red flag. That’s all.
If I would place my faith, actions, belief, and money, on anything that crosses my way without giving some thought to it, I would be playing the tambourine at the airport with the Hare-Krishnas by now.

PS: Thanks for the response in either case.
PSS: Don’t send me any money back yet.

So well put… and so very serendipitous – I’d just been having this discussion with a close friend about how a lack of trust in having things work out can be very detrimental, even when everything else seems to be ‘just right’ from the outside.

Hi Sarah. I’ve written about this in other posts and in recent books. Basiclaly, you can still have goals, just don’t be attached to them and allow inspiration to lead your way. And, keep cleaning. All the best to you.

As a starting writer in the area of science and spirituality, I have amassed a bit of knowledge about the limits of both science and spirituality, as now practiced in most religions. Until recently science has not been adequately re-investigating the limits of its founding assumptions; if your assumptions ignore some occasional processes that normally do not apply to most things that are being studied, surprise, surprise, when they are not included, then science cannot comment upon them. Scientists saying that some spiritual happenings cannot occur are talking outside the present venue of science. Religious leaders saying that science is of the Devil and only faith can be trusted are not quite up to date.

The new concepts of what the universe is really like, by Ervin Laszlo and shared to some extent with the new spirituality of Dr. David R. Hawkins, suggest that the universe was formed and is both surrounded and interspersed with intelligent consciousness (we are in God and God is within us). The universe also remembers every action, forever. Since thoughts that are dwelt upon are actions, they too are part of forever. Both teachers also assure us that the whole universe is quantum in nature, and therefore we cannot assume that the unexpected will not, or cannot, happen. It may not be likely but it sure as hell is not impossible.

This new understanding, something some of my books will cover, makes it obvious that we now have better science and spiritual backing for ideas that say we can and do influence reality (an idea that is half a century, or more, old but never allowed to change how we think and what we believe).

It is to be remembered, however, that when radical new ideas come forth they are ridiculed and actively attacked by those who were the previous experts in those fields This phenomenon is as old as mankind and it does take time for new, correct ideas to gain universal acceptance. There is an old saying that old ideas in science are buried by means of the internment of the previous experts (naughty, whot?).

I know that magic exists I see it all around.

I think that the world is magic it’s just we have become not grateful enough for the magic around us!:)

This is why we can work with the magic once we understand!

Thanks Joe really appreciate your work,

    Greg:)
