I’m glowing in the photo below — one person saw the pic and said it looked like I was about to burst into a sun — because I’m holding the world’s first Healing Guitar. I’m also beaming because I used that very same guitar to create a new music album with my guitar teacher, Mathew Dixon. You’ll love it because —
This new album was created in several unique ways, all designed to align your seven energy centers (sometimes called chakras). Each track was created in a specific key, to correspond to each of your energy vortexes.
Mathew and I allowed ourselves to be inspired as we played, in a way led by the Divine itself. The result of just listening to the music is an exquisite feeling of euphoria; a “flow” state where you’re relaxed yet alert.
I played lead guitar on six of the seven tracks using the Healing Guitar, which was designed to have its own mojo. It does. Even the background sounds you hear on the music were made with my custom made Healing Guitar.*
I’m in awe of my own guitar playing on the tracks (yes, I’m allowed to blow my own mind), but I’m more amazed and grateful at how relaxing, healing, and clarifying the music is.
The album is called Aligning to Zero. I can’t wait to make it available to you, which is only weeks away.
If you want to be notified the instant it is ready for you, just go here http://www.alingningtozero.info or send an email to [email protected]
Anyway, all I’m doing here is sharing my guitar and my excitement.
When you follow your passion, life just flows and glows.
Are you doing what you love?
Ao Akua,
joe

* The Healing Guitar was custom made for me by iguitars, co-designed by me to include the healing ho’oponopono mantra (from the book Zero Limits) of “I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me” and “Thank you” inlaid on the neck. They can make one for you, too, if you want. The company is at iguitar. Or click on the flyer below to see the specs for the Healing Guitar.
Years ago I asked Rhonda Byrne — the woman behind the Law of Attraction hit movie The Secret — an important question.
We were having dinner in Maui when I asked, “How did you come up with the idea for the movie?”
She thought for a long time before answering, “I called it forth.”
“I called it forth” could mean a lot of things. But the other day I came across a quote from film maker David Lynch that made it all come together:
“Ideas are floating like fish. Desire for an idea is like a bait on a hook.”
It made sense to me because this is how I’m creating music. Songs are floating around in the ethereal world. My desire for a song attracts one to me. The more precise I am in my request for a particular kind of song, the more accurate the match will be.
This doesn’t mean I’m in charge of the songs. I’m a receiver for them. Music is still the boss. Songs are still in charge. I get to tinker with the idea after it arrives, but the idea itself comes by grace.
But I attract it by desiring it.
For example, one year or so ago, when I had my training wheels on as a songwriter and was experimenting with writing songs for the first time, I remember thinking, “I want to write a song about being kind to others.”
That might sound simplistic to you. But even way back in the mid 1990s, in my first book on Internet marketing, called CyberWriting, I suggested we learn to write in kindness as a way to keep peace online. This “kindness theme” has been with me for decades, as a kind of prime directive in my life and work, so it shouldn’t surprise you that I wanted to express it in a song.
But how?
I remember sitting on my deck outside my office, looking at the trees, and desiring a song about this message. As I meditated, one started to come to me. I jotted down what I was receiving. I played with it. I picked up a guitar and added some chords to it. The end result is the powerful stand-out song called “Everybody’s Goin’ Thru Somethin'” on my first singer-songwriter album, Strut!
In short, I attracted the song by my desire for the song.
I do the same thing for this blog. I often have no idea at all what to write about, but my desire for a fresh blog post “calls forth” the idea I need.
News Flash: Strut! is now available for you to order. You can hear excerpts from my healing music albums at Strut! and Blue Healer.
For example, I didn’t know I was going to write this very post on how to attract great ideas. All I had was a desire for a post, which is what started the process to “call forth” an idea.
I then stumbled across the David Lynch quote while reading a magazine. Once I saw it, something clicked in me. I then recalled my dinner with Rhonda, and the post began to come together. I then sat down and wrote this for you.
But it all began with my desire for an idea.
Rhonda called forth her idea for a film about the Law of Attraction. She had a desire to share her insight, and that desire “called forth” a means. The result was a movie of historic importance.
You can do this, too.
What do you want to create?
A movie? A song? A business? A solution?
It doesn’t matter.
The first step is to declare your intention. Complete the sentence, “I intend to….” with whatever it is you want to attract.
“I intend to…create a website that brings in more sales.”
“I intend to…write a song about the theme of divine love.”
“I intend to…attract unexpected income by Friday.”
“I intend to…attract a loving person to date.”
My suggestions are loose as I’m making them up, but yours can be specific.
After that, allow ideas to come to you. Make space for them. Go for a walk. Relax in the hot tub. Sit in quiet meditation. Read a novel. Have a cup of tea.
Declaring your intention is the request that “calls forth” an idea to fulfill it. Making time to receive ideas is how you open yourself to hear the answer to your intention. Of course, after that, you need to take action on the idea to bring it into reality.
This process works for me.
It clearly works for Rhonda Byrne.
It will work for you, as well.
You just have to do it.
What would you like to “call forth” next?

If you’ve ever doubted that you could accomplish something, you’ll love this story.
A year ago I hadn’t written a single song, couldn’t carry a tune, didn’t have a solid beat, only knew a few guitar chords, and never sang in public or in the studio.
Today I have my first singer-songwriter album done. All songs by me. Everything sung by me. With guitar and harmonica playing by me. It’s called Strut!
And earlier this year, back in April, I released my first music album, called Blue Healer.
I went from zero to recorded musician in less than a year.
I hope you don’t think this is bragging. I’m sharing this with you to inspire you to go for your own dreams. If I can come out of the gate with no experience or education in music, and record something noteworthy within twelve months, then you can most likely do what you dream, as well.
Who’s to say you can’t?
To help you here, let’s look at the steps I took to recreate myself as a musician. This is a blueprint for you and what you want to do. In some respects, this is the secret process nobody (but me) wants you to know.
Here they are:
There you have it. Those five steps are the keys to attracting and achieving your own goals, even if they seem so big or out of your comfort zone to seem near impossible.
You don’t know what is impossible. So start now to manifest your dreams.
But let’s not stop there. I think it will be helpful to look at the songs I recorded for Strut! After all, I wrote them as “Healing Music” — songs of motivation, transformation and inspiration — all designed to help you achieve your dreams. This music illustrates the secret process nobody wants you to know.

As I told the other Joe Vitale — famous drummer for such music legends as Neil Young and Joe Walsh, who ended up playing amazing drums on my album — “I love music but too much of it plants negative messages that we absorb without thinking. The Rolling Stones singing “You can’t always get what you want” and “I can’t get no satisfaction” are programming us to believe in scarcity. I want to record music that is as beloved as the classics, but instead plants positive messages in you.”
There’s positive meaning behind each of my songs. I know because I wrote them all (except for the one noted below). Here are their secrets (which nobody has ever known, until now)…
“Today’s the Day” is a hypnotic blues-rock theme that grabs you and conveys the message that you need to take action. Today. In the song, an angel comes to me and tells me a secret. She then repeats it until you get it. I sing and play baritone guitar and harmonica on this one. This is my favorite track.
“Strut!” came from the idea that when you change your physiology, you change your psychology. Meaning, if you feel blue, get up and move around. Dance. Jiggle. Strut. This is my favorite track.
“Got a Problem?” conveys the amazing message of miracle healing from my book, Zero Limits, called ho’oponopono. It’s an original and unforgettable song about love. It gives me chills. This is my favorite track.
“Testosterone” is based on a true story, one I never planned to share. I’d rather not talk about it. Just listen to the song. This is my favorite track.
“Everybody’s Goin’ Thru Somethin” is a reminder that your problems aren’t just yours. We all got them. Even you. Even me. It’s a plea to be kind to others. To be understanding and forgiving. This is my favorite track.
“Strut Interlude” is a type of intermission. I came up with a guitar riff and we played to it for a couple minutes. It’s the section where you get to go fetch something to drink, go to the bathroom, groom your pet, change your shorts, or whatever. This is my favorite track.
“Totoro” is a whimsical song about a cartoon-ish fictional forest creature in Japan, and lost childhood magic. It’s a story about reconnecting with wonder. This is my favorite track.
“Money! Let’s go Get Some!” will reprogram your mind about the nature of money so you can more easily attract it. The groove in this tune will stick with you. I expect this one to become a movie soundtrack. This is my favorite track.
“The Choice” is a hypnotic tale, with beautiful guitar added by Mathew Dixon, about the nature of good and evil. Whew. You gotta hear it. It still haunts me (in a good way). This is my favorite track.
“All Along the Watchtower” is Bob Dylan’s famous song, updated with three new verses by me. I wanted to leave listeners with a positive message. So I wrote one. I’m sure Dylan will thank me. This is my favorite track.
“Three Months” is dedicated to the late Judy Sherman, a woman given three months to live. It’s an urgent message about deciding what you would do if given a short period of time. This one will surprise you. It also contains my primal screaming singing of “Struuuuuuuuut!” This is my favorite track.
As you can sense, all of these songs are designed to support you in strutting toward your dreams.
I’m not stopping with this album, either. I’m currently recording a healing instrumental album with Mathew Dixon (with me playing the world’s first healing guitar), and already working on my next singer-songwriter CD. I’m on a roll, having a blast, and making yet another dream come true.
But that’s about me.
What about you?
The message for you here is to go for your dreams.
Isn’t that where the gusto of life is?
You now know the “secret formula” nobody wants you to know.
What are you going to do with it?
Ao Akua,
PS — Excuses are a dime a dozen. What are you going to actually do today?

There’s a wealth of tools and processes available for you to do inner work. But over the last two months I’ve been working with select musicians to create what I call “Healing Music.” In short, this is music that does the sweeping in your unconscious house. The results are amazing.
The beauty of this new form of healing is that you don’t have to do much more than relax and listen.
Years ago Pat O’Bryan and I created a series of Clearing Audios that use subliminal statements recorded by me and original music recorded by him to help people “get clear.” These have been very popular. Our first one, The Clearing Audio, is a hands-down all-time bestseller. It’s only ten minutes long, is easy to listen to, and does a great job of kicking out the limitations in the unconscious.
But I didn’t want to stop there. I wondered if full-length, inspired original music, with audible chants or lyrics, could do an even better job at healing.
I teamed up with two of my favorite people — modern Flamenco guitarist Mathew Dixon and singer/songwriter Sarah Marie — and urged all of us to create original healing music: full length audios that will do the job of helping to de-stress bodies and minds and guide us into a closer relationship with the Divine, and on to natural healing.
I also threw my hat in the ring and challenged myself to create my first original music album, too. I hired Daniel Barrett of the band Porterdavis to guide me through the music producing process.
We gave ourselves two months to complete our projects, starting from zero, and using the date of May 1 as our deadline. I was told I’d be on the cover of the May issue of Austin All Natural magazine — and I am as of today– so I figured all three of us could get exposure in the special issue.
We had our goal.
We had our deadline.
The next step was massive action.
Could we pull this off in time?
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” – Plato
What are the results?
Sarah Marie created seven mesmerizing songs on a CD called Opera Mantra. It’s heavenly music inspired by ho’oponopono (the Hawaiian system of healing I wrote about in my book, Zero Limits, coauthored with Dr. Hew Len). Sarah’s angelic, soaring voice, singing the healing phrases that have been proven to resolve problems, is unbelievably soothing. Her tracks invite repeated listening.
I feel my soul brighten as I listen to Sarah sing. One track alone brings happy tears as it opens my heart to Divine love. The whole CD is enchanting. Daniel Barrett said Sarah’s voice is “pure love.” Sarah’s seven tracks are designed to invoke the Divine and then help you merge with it. It’s truly moving. You can hear a sample by going to Opera Mantra.
“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without” – Confucius
Mathew Dixon created ten tracks of inspired guitar playing, called Music from Zero, using his modern Flamenco guitar style to musically wipe out energy blocks and any negativity. He added my voice as a subliminal (below conscious awareness) saying the four phrases in my book, Zero Limits (“I love you, I’m sorry, Please forgive me, and thank you”). Just listening to his beautiful music makes me feel relaxed, at ease, and one with the Divine.
He, too, was inspired by the ho’oponopono healing method to create his original music. No lyrics but plenty of enlightened vibe to free the mind and body to be here now. This is the kind of music that offers the vibrations of bliss. Track names suggest what you’ll experience: “In the Moment,” “Source”, etc. He dedicated the CD to me, which I’ll be forever grateful for. Go to Zero Limits Music to hear samples.
“Music takes us out of the actual and whispers to us dim secrets that startle our wonder as to who we are, and for what, whence, and whereto.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
And me?
I created a CD of five long tracks of healing mojo music called Blue Healer. They’re a blend of blues style music with ancient chants. I played as many as seven instruments to create this music, including a very rare 1915 Gibson Harp Guitar. I also chanted special Hawaiian and Sanskrit phrases designed to heal issues and remove blocks. One track (#4) in particular is so potent that I doubt any problem or issue can remain while you listen to it. I describe it as “a freight train up your spine,” as it opens all the chakras and leads to a satori experience of awakening.
These five tracks are designed to be played as you meditate, work, play, drive, or rest. They are powerful. They move energy. They invoke spirit. Some are relaxing. Some are igniting. The “Gayatri Train” alone can help heal you. It rumbles your energy and stirs your soul. Sarah Marie contributed her enchanting voice to four of the tracks, which creates a beautiful feminine-masculine balance. You’ll love it. Go see Blue Healer.
My CD was out first, so some early reviews are already in:
Marc Gitterle said, “I am inspired by your CD, as it is just so beguilingly listenable, and great sounding.”
Donna Aloia said, “It is truly a work of art.”
Mindy Audlin said, “So cool!!! I LOVE it!”
Donna Fisher said, “I have been listening to the Secret Harp track over and over and over and over in my car. This song is so soothing and I even notice myself breathing more deeply as I feel like I breathe in the energy of the music.”
Again, just go to Healing Mojo Music to order Blue Healer.
“Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons. You will find it is to the soul what a water bath is to the body.” ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes
Please note that having a clear intention, and a deadline, and taking action, led to all three of us getting our CDs done before our May 1st deadline.
“It’s amazing all that you can do…” – Jem
The idea behind all of these breakthrough audios is to allow the high vibration of inspired music to work on you. It’s music as guru. Or music as healer. It’s an easy way to help create the personal transformation you want, right down to healing stubborn issues that used to resist everything else. And again, all you have to do is relax and listen.
To paraphrase Emerson, these three breakthrough new audios are “…secrets that startle our wonder.”
What could be easier?

When I was a kid I wanted to play the guitar. I told my parents. They listened and bought me a Roy Rogers cowboy guitar — made out of cardboard.
Being a smart kid, I knew the guitar was a symbol. It meant my parents didn’t believe in me. They never thought I would amount to anything as a guitar player. After all, if they had faith in me and my potential, they’d have bought me a really nice guitar.
I held that memory in my head for almost fifty years.
Fifty years!
That’s a long time to hold a grudge.
When I hooked up with Daniel Barrett, my music producer for my forthcoming album, and told him my sad Roy Rogers guitar story, he suggested I make peace with it.
He suggested I find an old Roy Rogers cardboard guitar and buy it. He thought there might be a lesson in it for me.
I didn’t think so.
But I trust Daniel and did what he asked. I searched, found a nice 1960s Roy Rogers toy guitar on eBay, and bought it.
When it arrived, I felt sick.
When I opened the box, I felt depressed.
There was that damn guitar again.
But I walked off my sadness, sat with the guitar, glanced at it every now and then, played it a little, and relaxed.
I started to remember all the warm fuzzies I had about Roy Rogers, the man, the singer, the actor, the legend.
Who didn’t like Roy Rogers?
He stood for good in the world.
He was the superman of the wild west.
It then occurred to me to get the background story on my parents giving me that guitar. After all, there might be more to what I remembered. So I called my 85-year-old father and asked him about it.
“Dad, do you remember that Roy Rogers guitar you gave me as a kid?”
“You mean that cheapee?” he quickly replied. “I drove to Pennsylvania in a blizzard to get that thing.”
“Why did you get me that particular guitar?”
“We were broke but we wanted to get you what you wanted,” he said. “We got you the best guitar we could afford at the time.”
And there it was.
The truth.
I felt tears well up in my eyes.
My parents did believe in me.
They simply struggled with money. My father was the bread winner in the family. He had an entire platoon of kids to raise. I wanted a guitar. He got me one, doing the best he could at the time.
And for almost fifty years I thought he didn’t believe in me!
My entire story was wrong.
Most likely you have stories from your childhood like this. When we’re too young to know how the world works, we make conclusions that simply aren’t true. (Actually, we do this as adults, too, but that’s a different blog post.)
“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he’d learned in seven years.” – Mark Twain
Maybe it’s time to reexamine some of the childhood stories you still carry.
Maybe it’s time to revisit, understand or reinterpret, and forgive.
Maybe it’s time to dig out that Roy Rogers guitar and play a tune.
Pull up a chair…
Ao Akua,
PS – Now that I’ve decoded my childhood, the first song I wrote is a tribute to Roy Rogers. He was a cool guy. And if you’re a guitar collector like me, you might like to know that Roy’s own Martin OM-45 guitar sold for $460,000. You read it right. Almost half a million dollars. Roy bought it for $30 used in 1933 and never knew it was a rare guitar to begin with. It sold for more than Roy’s 1964 Bonneville convertible or his stuffed legendary horse, Trigger. You just never know the value of a guitar — emotionally or otherwise — even if it’s made out of cardboard.
