We watched the 2006 movie Fearless the other night, starring the amazing Jet Li.
I loved it.
This beautiful film tells the mostly true story of Chinese Martial Arts Master Huo Yuanjia (1869~1910). Huo Yuanjia was the founder and spiritual guru of the Jin Wu Sports Federation. His philosophy helped bring respect to the Chinese people when they had none from anyone, including themselves.
I love the music, photography, acting, and sparring in Fearless. That shouldn’t be any surprise, as I’m a big fan of Jet Li as well as a student of martial arts.
I studied karate while still in junior high school in the late 1960s and I opened the Kent State University Aikido Club in 1973. (The first ad I ever wrote was for the KSU Aikido Club.)
I’ve also studied Chi Kung for about ten years now. I’m no Jet Li or Jackie Chan, but I respect them for what they can do.
What I may like best of all in the movie Fearless is seeing the change in the character himself.
He went from being self-centered, revengeful and angry to being respectful of himself and others. The change came after he hits bottom — which is all too often the place where most of us finally wake up and begin to change — but from there it’s up, raising the spirit of the Chinese people along with him.
Fearless is easy to watch and follow, even with subtitles. Whether you’re into martial arts or Jet Li shouldn’t matter, as this movie is all about awakening.
I believe that by watching great movies and reading great books about people who have transformed, you can learn and change without going through their pain first hand.
You don’t have to hit rock bottom like they did in order to change, if you listen to their message and act now.
Watch and become Fearless.

The actual Lao Tzu quote is a little different:
Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.
But, hey, fearlessness and true power go hand in hand.

Fearless was indeed a fantastic movie … I kind of hope Jet Li isn’t serious about not making any more kung fu epics, but if he is, at least he went out on top
It is really a hero and we need more like this today, as well as You joe , You are a hero of today for teaching people how to take charge of themselves. I also get path similar as Yours and I am stronger and I teach Wushu and taijiquan people and recommend YOu to everyone. type wushu joe vitale on google and yahoo and You will see on the first place.
