No, I didn’t buy his bed.

I slept in it, though.

So did Nerissa.

Let me explain…

Yesterday’s post about my managing to buy Steven Tyler’s 1998 Panoz AIV Roadster has brought me a lot of email and comments.  All of it is good, but one email was truly startling.

Turns out Nerissa and I slept in the same bed as Steven Tyler.

When we were in Maui a couple of years ago, we were gifted a stay at a high-end private beach mansion where celebrities paid $4,000 a night to get away from it all.

One of those celebrities was Steve Tyler.

In fact, the entire Aerosmith band stayed there, and they wrote one of their all-time best-selling albums while there.

I’m told he’s a nice guy.

Hmmmmm.

I have Steven Tyler’s race car, I stayed where he and the band wrote an entire album, and I just bought an expensive guitar and a house-rocking amp.

Is there a career change coming?

Joe

    Very cool!

I actually have pics of Steven with the car, when he had it up for auction himself, back in 2004.

Joe, you just took me back to some great high school memories. My girlfriend back then went to see Aerosmith (in Cincinnati) and cut her foot on broken glass. She said she was crying because she thought she’d miss the show. She was taken to the first aid station and, guess who she met? Steven Tyler and the rest of the band!

I’ve long since lost touch with her but I bet your car story would bring back some great memories for her.

    Enjoy your ride.

Way cool, Joe? Never too late for a career “shift” !!

If you ever make it learning to play your guitar, give me a shout, we’ll have a band that rocks!!

    Hi Joe,
I happen to know a couple of the Aerosmith guys. I’ve run into Steve Tyler at the health food store and grocery store. He always seems pretty nice when I’ve seen him. I know Joe Perry and Brad Whitford. I’ve been to both of their houses and they’re both great people. Nice down to earth regular guys. Glad that you won the auction for Steve’s car. Fun!!!
    Susan
